What else is there?

What else is there?

When you made your decission to use e-mail marketing to promote
your work at home business did you know that there is more to
e-mail marketing than sending an ad to your opt in list? (You
do have an opt in list don't you?) Go here to get an instant
opt in list: http://www.l1nk.com/tLf/EMsec.html and find out
how to make it a profitable one.

Now what else can you do while you are waiting for you list to
populate? One alternative is a safelist campaign. Safelists are,
very simply, an opt in list. With some exceptions and variations
basically when you sign up to send ads to a safelist, you also
agree to receive ads from members of that list. There are all
types of safelists, some are free to join, others are pro only
(pay to join), some offer both types of memberships with
restrictions on free members and/or benefits for pro members.
Some are credit based (you must open the message and click on a
link to earn credits), you may then use those credits to send
your own message. You get the idea, be sure you investigate the
list you are interested in and understand all the rules for the
membersip type you are looking for.

Generally speaking, the people who use safelists extensively
do not use traffic exchanges much and visa versa. Now I know
that statement will raise some comments. I must say here that
the comment is not intended to ruffle feathers or to promote the
effectiveness of one over the other. It is simply a statement of
of findings from my own non-scientific studies. It just means
you must keep that in mind when marketing your goods or services.
When sending an ad to safelists, be explicit with what you are
offering and what the next step is, it is quite possible that
you list member has not seen your website and is not familiar
with your product or service. Paint a very clear picture
without without trying sell it.

There is some debate about what is a good number of safelists.
I have to support the position that with safelists, more is
better. Now you are faced with the daunting task of sign up,
research, validation, writing ad copy submitting and
maintaining the lists. Then you must be able to maintain your
inbox! Be sure to use a "marketing" email address for both the
contact and subscription address. Do not use an autoresponder
address. The best number of safelists is, as I said, More! Any
number greater than 400 will work for most work at home start
ups. So how in the world do you manage all that and keep your
business moving forward? Go here and look into the safelist
submitter: http://www.l1nk.com/tLf/xtreme.html. The safelist
submitter is an indespensible tool for the work at home
netrepreneur. Generally, they will take some time to setup
and work the bugs out, but once it is fully operational, sending
an ad to 400+ lists will require only the time necessary to
update your ad copy and title.

Tomorrow we will look at some additional alternatives.
