Why Is an Autoresponder Important

Why Is an Autoresponder Important

Many online companies and online businesses use autoresponders.
Most people who do any kind of internet marketing swear by them,
and they are an important part of any online email marketing
campaign. This is because autoresponders accomplish a lot of
things for the internet marketer.

The main goal of autoresponders is to increase traffic to your
site and to turn those potential customers into actual customers.
Any good autoresponder will also capture the information about
the people who come to your site and also help you track how well
your email marketing campaigns and advertising are working. This
way, you know what works and what doesn't so you can market your
business more efficiently in the future.

Email marketing is all about building relationships with people,
because most customers don't buy on the first response. Most buy
later down the line, after you have built a relationship with them.
That is the most significant benefit of an autoresponder. Building
solid relationships is what successful online businesses do.

A good autoresponder will also help you build your mailing list,
especially for those who do a lot of email marketing, or who have
a niche product or service that requires specific niche marketing.
The more email marketing you do, the more business you will have.
You can also deliver newsletters and email promotions to your
current and potential customers. It is a great way to tell people
about your business. Email marketing is one of the most effective
ways to market your business. It's that simple, and an autoresponder
will help you do that. More email addresses mean more potential
customers to start building a relationship with. You may want to
look into picking up a couple thousand or so opt in addresses: go

An autoresponder should also help you manage your email list. It
should provide you with unlimited follow up messages, and handle
all requests to subscribe or unsubscribe automatically. It should
allow you to have multiple lists of customers so that you can
customize the messages that each group receives. The more work your
autoresponder does for you, the more time you have to build your
business and concentrate on selling your product.

Autoresponders are not all created equal, however. It pays to do
your homework on the various autoresponders out there and to find
out which one will work best for the type of email marketing you do.
Some autoresponders provide qualified leads; others promise great
technical service and work hard to make sure that if you get a spam
complaint that you get a fair hearing. Many autoresponder companies
also offer fringe benefits such as marketing your business to other
customers of the autoresponder. Whichever one you choose, it should
be cost effective, offer the kinds of services you want and have a
good track record with other businesses that are similar to yours.

This is an article I wrote some time ago about the significance of
an autoresponder in the work at home industry. This is the first
publication of this piece. I have since become accutely aware of
some issues that face all work at home and e-mail marketers. These
are not in order of significance, they are equally important.

The first one I will mention here is SPAM. I'll not bore you with a
lot of technical stuff re:Spam, simply remember this: If they didn't
ask for it, it's spam. That is a little tight, but safe. If you
Spam, you will not be in business long, it is that simple! In some
cases you only need to be accused and you can be shut down. Just
Don't Do It! E-mail marketing is the life blood of the work at
home marketer, don't be the one to put your fellow marketers out
of business either.

The second issue I need to mention here is just an expansion on one
of the points made in the article. Autoresponders are not all created
equal! There are many free autoresponders out there, most will
include ads for things that are not yours. If free is your budget
then you will have to live with that. However, the real key to a
good autoresponder is deliverability and spam claim protection.

Maintaining a clean server and relationships with ISP's is a full time
job, to be very good at it is much more than a full time job. Think
about it like this: You spend a good amout of time writing a killer
ad and send it to your list of 10,000 subscribers. You are expecting
a reasonable return and click thru rate and when the stats come in
you find that less than 50% were delivered! What do you think the
impact would be on you clickthru rate? A fair bet is you just lost
revenue enough to pay several months if not a year of fees to a
reliable autoresponder. I think you get the point! This is one of
the best out there: http://www.l1nk.com/tLf/Aces.html.

Some variations on the e-mail marketing theme tomorrow. What
alternatives are there to the traditional e-mail campaign that can
complement and/or substitute for what most of us think of as
traditional e-mail marketing for a successful work at home business.
